MEI focus on partnerships that link advances in natural resource access technology with the growing importance of understanding the interaction between living and non living planetary systems by industry and through rethinking education.

By seeing the planet as a dynamic living system crucial to human survival we can overcome humanities struggle to see through deception, misinformation, conspiracy and skepticism. We can better comprehend through evidence and facts rather than beliefs and values how our combined actions and their alternatives affect the planet and it’s inhabitants.

I want to invent worlds and describe them to readers, to create news things and news ways of looking at reality. A spark was ignited, and the concept turned into story boards and the story boards turned into novels. The words flowed onto the page, and I kept going. Finally, and after not to much effort I have offers form publishers.

Emerging themes in STEM that connect to and meet the growing needs of the natural resource industry and defense and space industry are key. That is what ‘Skimmer’ focuses on.

STEM is so much more than robotics and coding; it is a way of thinking. It requires a move away from dated or antiquated siloed topics and subjects that exist currently within defence and space settings. It requires a move towards acceptance of the need for paradigm shifts in thinking.

STEM is all about the progressive development of knowledge about sequential thinking and the practice of using novel thinking strategies that can increase motivation for working in, and management of, reaction to extreme, hostile, or confronting environments and unfamiliar or novel situations.

After many years writing and publishing in industry magazines and science Journals I felt my creativity was being stifled by dogma. I remembered this because when my kids were younger, I happened to invent a fantasy world for them and told bedtime stories about it for several years. I also once wrote a science fiction short story when I was younger and at high school. I still have a copy of it. Parked in the back of my head was an idea or concept that had been sitting there for some 10 years or so. I got thinking about what I really wanted to do and who I wanted to be.

I have taken an opportunity with the Western Australian government Department of Education to teach science and mathematics. With 30 years in science now behind me, I coordinate teaching, course programs and content, curriculum delivery, assessment, administration, and reporting on student outcomes.

I have 9 books in the Skimmer series to write which will keep me busy for some years to come. I plan to give talks and presentations on STEM and creativity, provide workshops and advice on writing and its connection with the world we live in as grounded science fiction. I don’t agree with current approaches to STEM education.

I plan to turn the fantasy world I created for my kids and all the bedtime stories I told into a book.

I have a contract with Austin Macauley and up until now have not been approached about movies, miniseries or indeed a tv series.

I have always been writing as part of my career in science and have published in industry magazine and science Journals. Creative writing has become my focus now.

Please get in touch regarding writing projects and fees for contracting. It depends on the nature of the project and what the terms of reference are.

I research the history of science and science fiction. I also delve deeply into fringe science and national security regarding coveted technology.

I intend to do talks and presentations to organisations including schools the cost of which will be determined on a case-by-case basis.

Many years of practice writing for different mediums and audiences. But overall, developing the discipline to sit and write about ideas and concepts and to research, think and plan out and put into some sort of framework the thoughts, visions and images that come into my head.
